How it differs from vaping
A vape heats liquid containing nicotine, propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine. IQOS heats actual tobacco. The experience is closer to a cigarette in taste for that reason, but the consumables and the cleaning routine are different: heated tobacco devices need their heating element cleaned regularly to maintain flavour.
Regulatory position
Heated tobacco products fall under the same UAE regulation for electronic nicotine products as vaping devices, including the 18+ age restriction and the requirement for Arabic and English health warnings on packaging. They are also subject to UAE excise tax on tobacco products.
